Eastern Spinebill

Acanthorhynchus tenuirostris

Family: Meliphagidae

150-160mm

This honeyeater is easily recognised by its long downward curving beak. Females have less distinctive markings than males. Found in wooded areas of the park with flowering plants.

While it is a honeyeater and its beak has evolved with plants with long tubular flowers it also eats insects which it often catches in flight.
