Grants and Donations History.
Since Friends began, we have applied for grants from various levels of government and commercial organisations to fund specific projects in Lane Cove National Park. Applications are determined in consultation with the NPWS and commercial bushcare work is monitored by park staff. The Friends of LCNP also undertake additional educational and promotional work to support the grants including the production of leaflets, signage and press releases.
Friends of LCNP have raised in excess of $1.8 million from grants and donations to support the restoration and rehabilitation in the park. Additionally, based on the most recent digitally recorded figures from My Impact the regular volunteers are contributing more than 6000 hours of work per year. NSW DPI currently values such volunteer input at $35.00 / hour or $210000 year. That is more than 5 million dollars over the life of Friends, before counting all of the one off and corporate days.
