Mosses in Lane Cove NP.

There are many different species of mosses in LCNP, most are overlooked. But they are worthy of note.

Much of the identification here is from reliable experts, however corrections and adjustments may be required when further information becomes available. Identification of mosses and liverworts often requires microscopic examination.

A widespread species. Found in the coastal high rainfall areas, in the central desert and in Antarctica

This is a liverwort, unrelated but similar in appearance to the mosses

This is a liverwort, unrelated but similar in appearance to the mosses.

The blue-green spot is a fungus, Chlorociboria aeruginascens.

This is a hornwort, unrelated but similar in appearance to the mosses and liverworts.
