Doughwood

Others have been planted, but this is the only known mature Doughwood in the Lane Cove valley. Growing beside Chatswood golf course. Leaves are in groups of three, they have a typical citrus type scent.

 

White Aspen

The only known tree of this species in the Lane Cove valley. A thick mature trunk showing the tree’s age.

 

Corkwood

Local height: 8 to 15 metres

Rare in the Lane Cove valley, three trees known in Ferndale Park. Not to be confused with other trees with the same common name, this is in the Laurel family.

 

Jackwood

Height: 8-15 metres locally

Rare in the Sydney area, may be seen in the upper Lane Cove valley on volcanic soils
