Swamp Wallaby

Wallabia bicolour

The Swamp Wallaby (Wallabia bicolour) alternatively known as Black Wallaby or “Stinker” on account of it's swampy smell, is a small stocky marsupial with dark brown fur, often with lighter rusty patches on the belly, chest and base of the ears much like the one pictured.

The preferred habitat of the Swamp Wallaby is forest undergrowth, they can be found in Eastern Australia.

Swamp Wallabies feed on introduced and native shrubs, grasses and ferns..
