Actinotus minor
Lesser Flannel Flower
Family: Apiaceae
Actinotus minor is the miniature flannel flower. It is a spreading perennial shrub, with fine, wiry stems which can reach 40-50 cm. It is found mainly in heath and open forest on rocky sandstone hillsides.
The flowers are less than 12mm across, but otherwise are similar to the larger well-known flannel flower.
The few small leaves are often obscured by neighbouring plants. They are grey and divided, with pointed segments.
Actinotus minor flowers for most of the year, but less in Winter.
