Bossiaea obcordata is a twiggy, stiff shrub 50cm-1.5m high, growing in woodland on sandstone or shale.

Its distinguishing feature is its leaves - alternate, heart-shaped, 2-6mm long. The branchlets are spiny.

The flowers of Bossiaea obcordata are yellow with deep red keel. They are borne in the leaf axils.

Bossiaea obcordata normally flowers from August to October.
