Dampiera stricta

Blue Dampiera

Family: Goodeniaceae

Dampiera stricta is a small erect shrub ranging from about 20 - 40 cm high. It can become straggling when larger. It is abundant in heath and woodland on sandy soils.

The flowers are usually light to dark blue, but can be mauve or pink. They are borne singly or in clusters in the axils of the upper leaves.

The leaves of Dampiera stricta are thick, 1-3 cm long, hairless and usually rough to touch. The name stricta refers to the leaves being held against the stem.

Dampiera stricta flowers from August to December.
