Darwinia fascicularis

Darwinia fascicularis is the most common Darwinia in the park, growing in heathy scrubs on sandstone. It is named after Erasmus Darwin, grandfather of Charles Darwin.

Darwinia fascicularis grows to 1.5 - 2.5m high, with many spreading branches.

The leaves are very fine, almost cyclindrical, 8-10mm long, bundled together. The name fascicularis refers to the leaf arrangement.

The flowers are clustered together and are white at first, turning red as they mature.

Darwinia fascicularis flowers from June to September.
