Drosera binata grows in wet sunny heath or swamps. It can be erect to 60 - 80 cm, or hang down from wet rock faces or under waterfalls.

The leaves are on tall stalks which branch into 2, 4 or 8 slender segments. These are covered with hairs which reflect light from glandular secretions. Insects are attracted by the light and trapped by the hairs which close over them. The insects are digested to provide nitrogen to the plant.

The delicate white flowers of Drosera binata, about 25 mm, have 5 petals and are clustered at the end of a stalk which grows from the base of the plant.

Drosera binata flowers in December and January.
