Goodenia heterophylla is a small upright or sprawling plant with stems 20-50 cm long.

The leaves are 2-3cm long, covered in fine hairs, and divided and toothed to varying degrees. They grow all along the stems and are mainly stalkless.

The flowers of Goodenia heterophylla are yellow, on slender flower stalks, in the axels of leaves.

The plant is found in open forest and scrubland mainly in sheltered locations.

Goodenia heterophylla flowers in the park mainly from October to February.
