Hakea teretifolia is an erect shrub, growing abundantly in low moist heathland. It is uncommon in the Park. The height, up to 3m, and width vary widely depending on position - in a windswept area the plant will be low and up to 2m wide.

The name Dagger hakea refers to the shape of the fruits of this shrub, although its 2-5cm leaves are also stiff and prickly. Teretifolia means cylindrical leaves.

The delicate flowers of Hakea teretifolia are a creamy white, covered with fine silky hairs.

Hakea teretifolia flowers from December to April.
