Leucopogon amplexicaulis

The leaves of Leucopogon amplexicaulis distinguish it clearly. They are light green in colour, hairy, and heart-shaped, clasping around the stem. The stems and leaf edges may be tinged with red.

The flowers of Leucopogon amplexicaulis are tubular, the inner part of the tube densely hairy. They grow in clusters on spikes which are longer than the leaves.

The plant itself is weak and small, to 1 m, usually found in sheltered places such as the base of rock faces or sandstone ledges.

Amplexicaulis means 'stem clasping'.

Leucopogon amplexicaulis flowers from August to October.
