Leucopogon microphyllus

The Leucopogon genus is named for its tiny white 5 petalled flowers, which have a dense hairy 'beard' inside the floral tube. Leucopogon microphyllus, a very common species, can be an erect shrub to 1 m, but is often weak and straggling, with many small side branches.

The leaves are the smallest of the local species - hence microphyllus - mostly 2-4mm long.

The flowers of Leucopogon microphyllus cluster at the ends of the side branches.

The main flowering time for Leucopogon microphyllus is June to January, but flowers can appear at other times.
