Persoonia pinifolia

Pine-leaf Geebung

Family: Proteaceae

Persoonia pinifolia is a slender drooping shrub which grows 2-4m tall and is very common in sheltered open forests on sandstone.

The glossy green leaves are very fine like pine needles, 30-50mm long.

The yellow flowers of Persoonia pinifolia are clustered on terminal spikes 5-15cm long, their weight bending the branches.

The succulent fruits are edible but bitter tasting. They hang in clumps, green at first then ripening to purple.

Persoonia pinifolia flowers in January, February, March, April and May.
