Philotheca salsolifolia is an erect shrub to about 1m, growing mainly in sandy heathland.

It is related to the Eriostemoms, having 5 petals 7-12mm long and 10 stamens. The single, terminal flowers, are pink or mauve.

The very narrow leaves, 4-12mm long, are crowded along the stems.

Philotheca salsolifolia flowers from July to January.
