Pultenaea ferruginea

Pultenaea ferruginea is found in sheltered woodland areas on sandy soils. It is about 1.5m high and bushy.

It has soft, hairy, blunt, obovate leaves, which are the same colour on both sides.

The yellow pea flowers are clustered towards the ends of the branches in the leaf axils. The normal flowering time is Spring, but there is often some spot flowering in some areas in the park.

Pultenaea ferruginea is very similar to Pultenaea elliptica/tuberculata. Distinguishing features are the shape and colour of the leaves and the bracteoles (leaf-like structures), which in Pultenaea ferruginea are divided to the base of the calyx (outer segment surrounding the flower) into 3 segments.

Pultenaea ferruginea flowers in October and November.
