Tristania neriifolia is a small shrub to about 3m, found along rocky creek beds and banks on sandstone. It is endemic to the Sydney region.

Its leaves are up to 9cm long, tough, and opposite, distinguishing it from its taller cousin, Tristaniopsis laurina, which has alternate leaves.

The flowers of Tristania neriifolia are in terminal clusters, with 5 yellow petals and erect stamens.

The fruit is a thin-walled capsule.

Tristania neriifolia flowers in December and January.
