Queens Jubilee /National Tree Day

An very successful Planting Trees for the Queens Jubilee / National Tree Day event was held on Friends River Avenue site on Sunday 31st July. There were over 150 volunteers who planted in excess of 1,100 local plants including at least 400 trees. In addition to the volunteers the event was attended by Jerome Laxale member for Bennelong, Penny Pederson, City of Ryde councilor and Greg Kirby NPWS North Western Sydney Area Manager. After two years of lock down It was good to see many return volunteers including a group from UTS.

This project  has received funding from the Australian Governments' Planting Trees for the Queens’ Jubilee Program.
